Yellow Sub Creative 2023
Yellow Sub Creative had an incredibly exciting and successful year of growth in 2022, and we’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved. Throughout the year, we focused on developing our team, prioritising sustainable UX design, and building a brand that encapsulates our values and ethos of blossoming.
In January of this year, we began our return to the studio with a ‘reset the room’ session to reflect on everything we achieved in 2022, both personal development and project delivery related. Together, we agreed on what was successful, what we loved working on, what we found challenging and what we might have done differently given the chance.
The best part was observing how the whole team are connected by the purposeful work we do for clients and our ability to make an impact through our actions.
One of the highlights of our year has been the growth and development of our team. We’ve invested in our crew of submariners by providing training and development opportunities, supporting growth and focused ambitions, and maintaining our high standards that enable us to deliver even more innovative and creative solutions for our clients. We’ve also built a strong culture of collaboration and communication amongst our sister companies Yellow Sub Hydro and Yellow Sub Geo to form a group of companies myopically focused on climate change adaptation and resilience. i.e. helping awesome people tell better stories to reach greater audiences. As a work-from-anywhere business in nature, the ability to communicate more efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance has made us stronger as a team.
Another area where we’ve focused our efforts is sustainable branding and UX design. We believe that designing digital products that are both functional and environmentally sustainable is critical, and we’ve made it a priority to educate ourselves in everything we do and to be the authority in the space. We’ve worked double hard to integrate sustainable design practices into our processes, and our clients have responded positively to our approach.
As we look ahead to 2023, we’re excited to continue to develop our brand and expand our offerings. Our whole ethos surrounding the word blossom is at the core of everything we do, and we’re excited to build on this foundation as we grow.
We’ve also been able to adapt to the pressures and opportunities outside of Wales and into international waters, which has enabled us to broaden our offering. This has allowed us to work with clients from all over the world and to bring our expertise to new markets beyond simply an identity system or portfolio website even our own websites have had that sustainable treatment!
Looking to the future, we’re excited to start the journey to launch our own products, of which Periscope will be the first by Q4 2023. This SaaS product has been in development for a while, and we’re thrilled to finally be bringing it to market. We’ve produced branding and marketing materials in-house, websites, and explainer videos, collaborated with some movers and shakers in the world of Water internationally and paved the way for best practices around UX for hydrologists of the future. No small feat! and we’re confident that with this experience behind us and team culture at an all time high, we will support the launch of Periscope and future products to help us make a significant impact in the market. We’re designers, developers and communicators, but most of all we’re problem solvers to some of the biggest challenges faced by humanity today and that excites us. This next year is set to be pivotal for Yellow Sub, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together. #livelifeyellow
